- Attendance at the pre-ride safety briefing is required to participate in the ride.
- If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, or if you are sick with the flu or a cold, you should not participate in group rides.
- Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
- Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
- A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.

Let's ride from Tacoma's West side Narrows Park and Ride on a hilly 35 mile route to the Fox Island Fishing Pier at a moderate pace.
Let's meet at the Narrows Park and Ride in Tacoma. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above at 0900. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will be crossing the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and Fox Island Bridge to the scenic Fishing Pier. The route takes us along waterfront beaches and through wooded sections of Fox Island and through Gig Harbor on the return to the starting point.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are NOT available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 18.9 at Fox Island Fishing Pier. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Fox Island Deli at mile 22.8 or at Starbucks at mile 30 depending on group choice.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
