Join us for a history ride from Volunteer Park on a 11.1 mile route around Seattle at a Leisurely (10-12 mph average on flat ground) pace!
We will meet on the east side of the reservoir at Volunteer Park (1247 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112). Parking can be found in the adjacent parking lot. Transit access includes biking from the Link light rail station at Capitol Hill (1 mile away) or biking from King County Metro Bus routes 10 and 49 each with stops a few blocks away.
Please be ready to ride at 1:00 PM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
There are a total of 9 short stops on this ride during which the ride leader will tell a story about Seattle's LGBTQ+ history for a couple of minutes.
The route is mostly on paved roads with a few short segments on packed gravel.
Please note: due to all of the starts/stops, this ride is expected to last around 3 hours (estimated finish after 4:00 pm).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
