This is a history ride to visit and learn facts about various historic and interesting sites around Queen Anne in Seattle.
We will meet in the plaza above the Fisher Pavilion building in Seattle Center (between Climate Pledge Arena and the Armory). Parking can be found at garages around Seattle Center. Transit access includes the Seattle Monorail which connects with Westlake Station on the Link light rail and numerous King County Metro Bus Routes serving Seattle Center. Bicycle access is from bike facilities on Thomas St, 1st Ave, 2nd Ave, and 5th Ave leading into Seattle Center.
Please be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
There are a total of 13 stops on this ride during which the ride leader will give some details about the history/geography/etc. for a couple of minutes. We will take a restroom & water/snack break at Queen Anne Bowl Playfield (mile 6.1).
The route is mostly on paved roads and trails, but there are 2 short sections of cobblestone.
Please note: due to all of the starts/stops, this ride is expected to last around 4-5 hours (estimated finish after 2:00 pm).
Click Register Now above if you would like to attend this ride.
Please bring basic tools (extra tubes, patch kit, etc.) as well as water and snacks, as it may be warm that day. Have a back-up plan in case you are unable to finish (friend/family who can pick you up, ORCA card to use public transit).
Cancellations: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride, and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location.
Restrooms: there are restrooms at the Armory in Seattle Center at the start/finish and Queen Anne Bowl Playfield (mile 6.1).
Cue sheet: Route link cue sheets will not be provided. Please print one using the RideWithGPS link below if desired.
