This is a recreational ride to visit every light rail station on the future Line 2 (East Link) of the light rail system opening in 2023-2024 from Seattle through Bellevue to downtown Redmond and back.
We will meet above the International District/Chinatown light rail station on the brick plaza at the end of S King Street off 5th Ave (505 5th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104). Parking can be found in parking lots/garages nearby, but it is recommended to park at a different light rail station and take your bicycle on the light rail to reach the start. Transit access uses the nearby Line 1 light rail, multiple bus routes, and the First Hill line of the Seattle Streetcar. Bicycle access is off the S King St neighborhood greenway and 2-way protected bike lanes running from 2nd Ave in downtown Seattle.
Please be ready to ride at 9:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will stop for breaks at the following locations along the route: Aubrey Davis Park (mile 4.7), optionally at Enatai Beach Park (mile 7.6), Marymoor Park (mile 20.5), lunch at Lunchbox Lab Burgers (menu includes vegetarian options, mile 23.2), Gas Works Park (mile 38.1).
Click Register Now above if you would like to attend this ride.
Please bring basic tools (extra tubes, patch kit, etc.) as well as water and snacks, as it may be warm that day. Have a back-up plan in case you are unable to finish (friend/family who can pick you up, ORCA card to use public transit).
Cancellations: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride, and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location.
Restrooms: there are no restrooms at the start; restrooms can be found at Aubrey Davis Park (mile 4.7), Enatai Beach Park (optional, mile 7.6), Marymoor Park (mile 20.5), Lunchbox Lab Burgers at Redmond Town Center (mile 23.2), and Gas Works Park (mile 38.1).
Cue sheet: Route link cue sheets will not be provided. Please print one using the RideWithGPS link below if desired.
