This is a recreational ride to visit every light rail station, including the new ones, on the 1 Line (Link light rail) in the Seattle area. We’ll start at Angle Lake Station in SeaTac and make our way north to Northgate Station, visiting each and every light rail station along the way. We will briefly stop at each light rail station, and there is a stop mid-ride for coffee and snacks.
We will meet at the Angle Lake Station north plaza near the decorative blue parking garage in SeaTac (19955 28th Ave S, SeaTac, WA 98188). Parking can be found in the nearby parking garage. Transit access includes the Angle Lake light rail station and King County Metro Bus routes RapidRide A and 635 nearby. The area surrounding the station is not very bike-friendly, so it is recommended to use transit to arrive at the ride if possible.
Please be ready to ride at 9:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will stop for breaks at the following locations along the route: Tukwila International Blvd Station with optional restroom (mile 5.5), Beacon Hill Station with restroom & water break at The Station cafe (mile 16.9), Northgate Station (mile 31.7).
Please note: this ride is expected to last 5 or more hours.
Click Register Now above if you would like to attend this ride.
Please bring basic tools (extra tubes, patch kit, etc.) as well as water and snacks, as it may be warm that day. Have a back-up plan in case you are unable to finish (friend/family who can pick you up, ORCA card to use public transit).
Cancellations: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride, and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location.
Restrooms: there are restrooms at Tukwila International Blvd Station (mile 5.5), The Station cafe (mile 16.9), and Northgate Station (mile 31.7).
Cue sheet: Route link cue sheets will not be provided. Please print one using the RideWithGPS link below if desired.
E-bikes: This is an e-bike-friendly ride. Please consult the "Can I ride my e-bike on a Free Group Ride?" section on the Cascade Free Group Ride FAQ's link for more information. Be sure to have your battery/power pack fully charged before you arrive for the ride.

UPDATE: Route Change Due to Montlake Bridge Closure
Hi everyone.
This is your ride leader, Bob Svercl, for the "Let's Bike The Link Light Rail!" ride with a news update.
The Montlake Bridge will be closed to all traffic (cars/bikes/peds) this weekend, so we will have to detour onto the University Bridge when going between the Capitol Hill and UW light rail stations. Not to worry, I have an enjoyable detour route that we can use to get around the closure! The detour route is less than a mile longer and has less than 100 feet of extra climbing. There are no other changes to the route.
You can download the adjusted route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38046141
See y'all in the morning!
