Enjoy the curves and colors around Mercer Island before the rainy season. Meet in the south parking lot at Renton Memorial Stadium (no restrooms). There will be a restroom and water stop at Gene Coulon Park (mile 2). We'll continue north on the Lake Washington Bike Loop Trail up to the Mercer Slough. There is an optional rest stop at Enatai Beach Park (mile 9) if necessary. We will ride over the East Channel bridge on the I-90 Bike Lane and regroup. The first time around we'll cruise Mercer Island clockwise. Lunch stop (mile 21.5) is at Homegrown (Menu link below). After lunch, we reverse the route back around Mercer Island loop counter-clockwise to the I-90 trail. We will start each Mercer Island loop together but climb and coast the curves and rollers in our own comfort zone. Then it's back over Lake Washington and down the east side of the lake to Renton. We should get back about 2:45 pm.
