- Attendance at the pre-ride safety briefing is required to participate in the ride.
- If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, or if you are sick with the flu or a cold, you should not participate in group rides.
- Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
- Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
- A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.

This week the FRUMPS ride heads southeast from Renton. From Ron Regis Park we take the Cedar River Trail which gradually climbs (2-3%) up to picturesque riverside Dorre Don. We cross over the Cedar River on an old Rail Road bridge and ride on hard-packed gravel for 0.4 miles. The lunch stop is at my favorite sandwich shop called S'wiched. Check the link below for the S'wiched menu. After lunch, there is another short trail section of packed gravel (0.2 miles) then we cruise through forest neighborhoods over to Covington. The Soos Creek Trail is a peaceful meandering paved trail that courses through natural wetlands for 5 miles back to Renton. There is a short pitch up an 11% grade for 100 yards but we will wait for the entire group at the top. Just before the end, we have a 10% descent for 1 mile down 140th Ave. There is a portable potty but no water at the start.
What to bring: Supplies and tools to fix a flat, cell phone in case you cannot finish, 2 water bottles, pocket snacks and money for lunch.
Start: Arrive in time to prepare your bike, use the restroom, and be ready to hear the route review and SMART safety briefing at 9:50 am so we can depart at 10:00 am.
Restrooms: Start, Lunch at S'wiched (mile 13.9), Soos Creek Trail (mile 29.4)
Cancellation: In the event of showers or unsafe conditions, the ride leader will not be at the start but will post a cancellation notice in the Comments section below by 8:00 am on the day of the ride. It is always wise to check the Comments before you drive to the start of a ride. Rain during the ride could modify the route.
Register: Preregister online by selecting the red and white [Register Now] button at the top of this posting. If your plans change you do not need to unregister. You may also sign the Cascade waiver at the ride start.

RIDE CANCELED
As of 25 March, Cascade Bicycle Club and the Rides Committee have decided to suspend Free Group Rides until further notice. This decision has been made with the safety and health of our riders in mind.
