Come join us for a mid-week hill training ride.  This ride starts at Ron Regis Park with a 5 mile warm-up along SE Jones Road before a long climb up 196th Ave SE.  From there we’ll ride along some quiet back roads before climbing Tiger Mountain Road.   We will take a short bathroom/coffee break at a country store on Issaquah Hobart Road before heading back to the start.

This will be a moderate paced ride. We will climb at our own pace and regroup at the bottom of each major climb.  Showers will cancel this ride, as will ice/snow, strong wind and other hazardous conditions. Ride cancelation will be announced in the comments sections of this post 2 hours ahead of the ride start. If canceled the ride leader will not be at the ride start.

We will observe speed limits when on multi-use trails.

Please register for the ride by clicking on the “Register Now” button. Note you will need to be signed into your account prior to that. Registration is not mandatory, but it allows us to print the rider list beforehand and helps us save time at the ride start. Riders should be able to sustain the pace, carry nutrition/water, and have the know-how and equipment to fix a flat tire. We strongly suggest you carry a phone to call for assistance if needed. Arrive at least 15 minutes early so that you can get yourself ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the S.M.A.R.T. briefing. This allows us to have an on-time departure.

Restrooms / sani-cans are available at the start, at mile 11.5 and also mile 16.5.  Please bring hand sanitizer!!

Comments

As of 16 March, Cascade Bicycle Club and the Rides Committee have decided to suspend Free Group Rides through the end of March and reevaluate the situation surrounding the coronavirus at that time.

Bicycling is still a great way to exercise and boost your immune system during this time of public health advisory. We encourage you to find a way to continue to ride your bike in a responsible and safe way during the upcoming weeks.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult times. We look forward to riding as a group again soon. Stay safe and healthy.
