7 Hills of Kirkland
Mon. May 25, 2020 6:00am
Every day is an uphill climb for someone struggling with homelessness. You can make a difference in our community by joining Attain Housing in our annual 7 Hills of Kirkland event, a fundraiser for local families in need, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2020.
Enjoy a beautiful scenic ride, with the choice of three routes: the traditional 7 Hill Route (approximately 40 miles), the popular Metric Century Route (60 miles), or the challenging Century Route (100 miles). All three routes are well-marked, well-supported with technical and road assistance, and great fun. Travel at your own pace over urban, suburban, and rural roads, on a holiday when cyclists seem to outnumber vehicles.
Start at the Kirkland waterfront; follow the signs and “Dan Henry’s” to great food stops, challenging ascents, and wonderful descents. Climb Winery Hill and be rejuvenated by the applause of your own cheering section and the lovely music of Neil the bagpiper.
In addition to the sense of accomplishment from the great ride, participants can take pride in knowing they are helping families in their uphill climb to overcome homelessness by supporting Attain Housing. Whether people are living in their cars, housed temporarily in shelters, or facing eviction, Attain Housing will help them as they stabilize their family, work on creating a stronger future, find and retain safe and permanent housing. Attain Housing cares and so do our wonderful cyclists.
