Join us for a social ride from Heritage Park on a 25-mile route at Steady Pace (12-14 mph)
We plan to ride south through Kirkland then climb up the 520 trail to the Bridge View Park for our group photo-op (mile 4.5). Evergreen Point Road and Overlake Drive are tranquil roads with occasional lake views. There is a restroom stop at Downtown Park in Bellevue (mile 8.6). A short steep climb up 6th St brings us to Bellevue Way, then it's more cruising quiet neighborhoods through Beaux Arts to the I-90 trail. After crossing the East Channel, we continue on the Trail to downtown Mercer Island for the lunch stop at Homegrown Sandwiches (mile 13.7). Check the link below for the menu. We retrace our route back to Enatai then cross over the Mercer Slough to 118th Ave. We finish north on city streets through Bellevue and Kirkland back to the start.
Start: Meet in the parking lot at Heritage Park at 9:50 am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10:00 am.
Regroup: We will climb and descend hills at our own pace with frequent regroups.
Restrooms: None available at the start. We will stop at Marina Park (mile 0.25), Downtown Park (mile 8.6), Lunch (mile 13.7), Enatai Beach Park (mile 16.5)
Registration: You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red and white "Register Now" button above. Or you can sign the waiver at the start. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
What to bring: A spare tube and tools to fix a flat, cell phone, full water bottles, snacks or money for lunch.
Cancelation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
