We will ride north or south on the Burke-Gilman Trail to Woodinville and Redmond. The direction will depend on the direction of the wind on the day of the ride. A early east wind will mean a clockwise route otherwise counterclockwise. Either way, we are stopping in Redmond for a quick lunch at the QFC located just east of the Sammamish River trail. The QFC is located at 15800 Redmond Way. We will eat at QFC for about 30 minutes. See the map for the route. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required.
Ride start: Please arrive 20 minutes before the start of the ride. Check in with the ride leader to sign or be checked off on the liability waiver. We will have the safety briefing before leaving on the ride. Water and restrooms are available at the start location.
Route: Come have fun and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman, Sammamish River and 520 Trails. Restrooms available at Logboom Park in Lake Forest Park, Wilmot Park in Woodinville and at the QFC in Redmond if needed. The terrain is flat.
Fenders: If the roads are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry.
Parking: Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot.
Pace: The pace is steady at 12 to 14 mph.
Mechanical: Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire. Bring a spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump and skills to fix flats, and have a mobile phone and a plan for rescue in case your bike fails.
Cue sheets: No cue sheets will be provided. A Ride With GPS map file and cue sheet are available at the link, below. If you want a cue sheet, please print it and bring it along.
Register - Please RSVP by clicking on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above. This will save us time at the start. Note that the on-line RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account, which is easy to set up, but if you don't want one of those just come anyway and sign the hard-copy attendance and hold-harmless (waiver) sheet.
Weather cancellation: The listed phone number will not be answered on the day of the ride. If "Showers cancel" conditions exist on ride day, I will not go to the start. In that case, I'll post a ride-canceled message in the Comments block below, not later than two hours prior to start time. Ice or frost/snow that makes driving to the start unwise also will cancel. If the weather looks iffy, check here before leaving for the ride.

RIDE CANCELLED
It looks like the rain showers are not going to clear and with the temp at 38 degrees that just doesn't sound like any fun.
Ride Cancelled
I had done the message. It was my first ride cancellation and looks like I did it wrong. Sorry to those of you getting this message out of the blue a year later.
