KEEPING RIDERS SAFE

- Attendance at the pre-ride safety briefing is required to participate in the ride.
- If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, or if you are sick with the flu or a cold, you should not participate in group rides.
- Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
- Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
- A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail passing Log Boom Park and Blyth Park. Then on to Woodinville to Wilmot Gateway Park. We will take a break at Wilmot for about 15 minutes, use the restrooms, if needed, and return to Matthews Beach. Bring a snack if needed. The terrain is flat. The pace is steady at 12 to 14 mph. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required. No cue sheets provided. Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the sea gulls for a good parking spot.
Route: Come and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail to look at the captivating scenery. The lake views are pretty special, especially on a clear day.
Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry.
Ride start: Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the liability waiver and hear the safety briefing. Water and restrooms are available. No cue sheets will be provided and be prepared if you have a mechanical problem, e.g. a flat tire.
Cue sheets - None, stay together ride.
Register - Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister.
Weather cancellation: - Showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride. Ice, frost/snow or sub-freezing temperatures that make driving to the start unwise or hazardous also will cancel. If the weather looks iffy, check here before leaving for the ride. Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section at least two hours before start time and the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
