KEEPING RIDERS SAFE

- Attendance at the pre-ride safety briefing is required to participate in the ride.
- If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, or if you are sick with the flu or a cold, you should not participate in group rides.
- Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
- Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
- A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.

A mostly flat ride from Auburn up to Kent with a coffee stop at Panera Bread. Please meet in the the regal theater parking lot in the Outlet Collection Mall in Auburn. The north end of the lot between the theater and Walmart. Please arrive 15-20 minutes before the posted ride time so you can get your bike read and hear the safety talk and a quick review of the route. We begin riding promptly at 10:30 am.
We will leave the mall and head north on the Interurban Trail for one block before getting onto the road in Auburn. We continue north on C St NW and will ride past Emerald Down Race Track. We briefly ride the Green River Trail near Kent before jumping onto low traffic Frager Road. Continuing north we cross a bridge near Van Doren's Landing to Russell Road and the GRT to Three Friends Fishing Hole. From 3 Friends we take 196th for 2 miles to the Interurban Trail which will bring us to Kent Station and our rest stop. We will take a 15-20 minute coffee break at Panera Bread. After our break we head south and turn onto Green Valley Road which will bring us back into Auburn.
Restrooms inside Wal-Mart at the start, at Three Friends Fishing Hole at mile 12.7 and at our rest stop at Panera mile 17.
New riders are welcome, but please review the link below. Riders should be able to maintain the pace and know how to change a flat tire (and carry the equipment to do so).
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to un-register if you decide not to ride.
In the event of damp weather, the use of fenders/mud flaps is appreciated especially by the riders behind you.
Please make sure that you have a tube and water.

Green River and Valley Flooding
A heads up . . . if the valley is flooded this Wednesday, I will change the route and we will ride up to the Black Diamond Bakery away from the rivers. Here is the new route map. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17839956

Pre-Ride Update
Today I pre-rode the route and due to the high Green River I had to adjust the route. I am going to stay in the valley because I think to see the Green River so high is a spectacular sight. We will lose 2 miles though due to the Green Valley Road being closed due to water over the it. Also, all the under passes on the Green River Trail are under water. We will avoid them. I will go over everything at the pre-talk and SMART talk. So please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride.
