This is a repeat of the Fun Ride in the Beautiful South Sound. The weather looks better for Monday Feb 3rd, so we'll try this ride again.
Come join us in cycling the beautiful South Sound! We’ll ride a large loop starting on the Cedar River Trail and adhere to 10 mph speed limit where posted. We'll have a midway food stop in Covington, and then return to our start point via the Soos Creek Trail through Kent. This will be a steady paced group (12-14 mph on the flats). This is a new route, so the ride leader may stop occasionally to jot down notes and/or make corrections in the route.
Our start location is at the Renton Community Center. Let’s meet in the Northeast corner next to the bathrooms. The bathrooms at the start are usually open. However, there are more facilities just a couple miles into the ride, and we can stop there if needed. All riders should come equipped to deal with their own mechanical issues and bring enough snacks and water. Waiting for mechanical issues will be at the discretion of the ride leader. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, some food/water and cash for our food stop. Also, all riders are encouraged to have an Orca Card or a pick-up plan if needed. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Please come early enough (no later than 9:40 a.m.) to ready yourself and your bike and listen to the ride briefing and S.M.A.R.T. safety talk. We will roll out right at 10:00 am. You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.

Roads
Just now walked around the neighborhood to check roads. Wet but no snow accumulation or ice. Looks OK for the ride today.
