Looking to start the spring riding season strong? Join us for 8 weekly rides to start your year right. This will be a steady paced social ride that will stay in the mid-range (+/- 13 mph) on the flats. We will climb at our own pace and regroup at the top of hills. Please review the route ahead of time and print your own cue-sheet as the ride leader will not have copies at the start.
This week’s ride starts at Bear Creek P & R in Redmond. There are no restrooms at the start, so plan accordingly. We’ll ride through Marymoor Park, stopping briefly if needed for a restroom break at MP 2. Then south along West Lake Sammamish before taking is mid ride break for coffee at the Issaquah Coffee Company (MP 14) and then return along the east side of Lake Sammamish. Bring money to enjoy a hot beverage and pastry.
Regardless of the weather predictions come prepared with the appropriate rain gear and fenders with buddy flaps on your bike, both for your comfort and the safety of the rider behind you. We will ride in light rain but steady rain cancels, as does ice/snow. Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments sections of this post 2 hours ahead of the ride start. If canceled the ride leader will not be at the ride start.
Please register for the ride by clicking on the “Register Now” button. Note you will need to be signed into your account prior to that. Registration is not mandatory, but it allows us to print the rider list beforehand and helps us save time at the ride start. There is no need to "unregister" if you cannot make the ride.
Riders should be able to sustain the pace, carry nutrition/water, and have the know-how and equipment to fix a flat tire. The group will generally not stop for repairs. We strongly suggest you carry a phone to call for assistance if needed.
Arrive at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the S.M.A.R.T. briefing. This allows us to have an on-time departure.

Interested in Joining this RIde.
Rode with the CHEW Last Weekend, but the Climbing Pace was Quite a bit beyond my Abilities. This sounds more like my interest for now.
Just let me know if Heavy Rains will Cancel the Ride.
Thanks.

Weather
I'm hopeful the weather will allow us to ride tomorrow. Watch here for updates tomorrow morning.
Sounds great!
I'd love to join but do not have fenders... could I even though my bike doesn't have them?
Fenders
Yes, but you will need to ride in the back of the group.
