Join us for a beautiful ride from Hamlin Park on a 26-mile hilly route at moderate pace, 14-16 mph. Bring snacks- no cafe stop but we will stop for water and rest. Bring a water bottle. You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
We are riding in my "hood" where I frequently ride alone. I love this route because it is mainly off of busy streets and it is beautiful- trees, streams, nature, views of the sound and more. You will learn some tricks for navigating around Lake Forest Park also.
Let's meet at the Hamlin Park at 9:15 near the playground and bathroom area in the parking lot for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:30. You must attend the safety briefing in order to participate in the ride.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup as needed at the tops of hills. You must be comfortable climbing hills. If you are uncertain, please feel free to join us, but please bring a cue sheet and/or smart phone with the route in case you cannot keep up with the group. Everyone should bring a cue sheet and map or load the route into your GPS or your smart phone in the Ride with GPS app. Bring money and a charged cell phone so you can call an Uber or friend if necessary in case you have a mechanical or flat or cannot keep up with the group.
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 11.5, but there is no food available so bring snacks.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Due to wet roads please have full fenders or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group in order to avoid spraying the riders behind you. Steady rain will cancel. I am leading this ride alone, and as such, if you have a mechanical/flat you must have a way to get home so bring money, a charged cell phone and a map.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

I am on the fence about canceling. Looking at the radar, however, it shouldn't rain the entire time, so we can decide at the start what we want to do.
