Getting into bicycling, or getting back into it, or just looking for something short and to the point (Evergreen Point!)?  Here's a steady-paced ramble starting from the Cascade Bicycle Club offices in Magnuson Park, across the State Route 520 floating bridge to the Medina Grocery & Deli for a bite, and then back.  We'll mostly be on multi-use trails and quiet streets.  There are a few uphill-ish sections and we'll do those at each rider's own pace with regroups at the tops.

Restrooms and water are available at the start in the Cascade building/Mile Zero and at Medina City Hall/Beach Park just a bit beyond the Grocery/Mile 10.

A RideWithGPS route map with cue sheet is at the link.  If you want a cue sheet, please print it.  Also, note that Google Maps hasn't yet caught up with the bike trail detour onto the SR 520 Trail in Montlake.  We'll use the detour going out and coming back, rather than enduring the cyclocross-quality pavement on Hamlin and Shelby Streets.

Bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; and have a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails.  If roads are wet, roostertails from bare tires are a safety and comfort issue for other riders.  Unless the geometry of your bike won't allow, fenders with long mudflaps are strongly recommended.

Please RSVP by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page.  NOTE:  I will print the ride waiver at 8:30 AM on ride day.  It's not a problem if you decide after that time to ride, and you can sign in at the start.

The listed phone number won't be answered after 8:30 AM on the morning of the ride and the voicemail won't be checked.  If weather conditions meet the Showers Cancel criterion I will post a cancellation notice in Comments, below, two hours prior.  High winds, cold temperatures, icing, or other severe conditions also may cancel.  Please check here before leaving for the ride.
