Let's enjoy this streak of sunshine by going for a nice social bike ride on a chilly late autumn morning.  I hope you will be able to join me this Wednesday as we ride from Renton to Maple Valley and back.

We will begin with a nice ten mile warm up on the Cedar River Trail.  The grade on the trail from Renton heading towards Maple Valley is a very gradual 1-3 percent.  We will ride to where the pavement turns to gravel then walk a short distance off the trail onto Witte Road.  Once on Witte Road we will begin climbing.  About a three quarter mile climb with the highest grade being about 6.3 percent.  That is our big climb!  Then we will continue another 5 miles to Ristretto's where we will stop for a 15-20 minute break before heading back.  On our return we will not take the Cedar River Trail.  Instead we will ride on Maxwell and Jones Roads.  These two roads will offer us the opportunity to go "your own pace".  I will ride and keep the posted pace but for those of you who would like to push yourselves this will be your opportunity.  Maxwell and Jones Road are fun.  Mostly rollers.  Up and down.  At the end of each road we will regroup.  After our last one, Jones Road, we will jump back on the Cedar River Trail and finish the last 2 miles cooling down as we return to our start at the Community Center.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start at 10 am so that you may hear the SMART talk and safety briefing and get your bike ready.  We will roll promptly at 10.  There will be bathrooms at the ride start in the Community Center.  Please park at the Northwest corner of the parking lot near the restrooms.

You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to un-register if you decide not to ride.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!
