Ride Description:

EAstside Ride The Hill DREAM rides are focused on helping strong riders get stronger by training on challenging hills. You can ride the hills at your own pace; we will regroup at the top. EARTHDREAM rides emphasize teamwork and cooperative riding in a way that is fun and encourages each rider to develop their cycling skills.  Our pace tends to be consistent especially on hills where the climbs are fast and strong.  Riders who struggle to maintain a vigorous pace may find it challenging to stay with the group.  We will attempt to accommodate people with a range of abilities, but riders who are significantly off the group pace should come prepared to finish the ride on their own if necessary.

With the possibility of rain in the forecast this ride follows a route that allows us to easily head back if we get too wet.  The route has some challenging hills (like  Hollywood Hill in Woodinville and164th on Cougar Mountain) and also has some long, flat portions that should allow us to stretch our legs.

The starting location is at the South Kirkland Park and Ride.  There is no water or restrooms at the starting location, so please plan accordingly. We will plan on one stop for food and water a Starbucks in Redmond.

If you click the "Register Now" button on this page it saves you from having to sign in at the start of the ride.  Also, it gives me an idea of how many people to expect. Please register at least two hours before the start of the ride.

Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before the start of the ride so you can get signed in, hear the pre-ride briefing, and be ready for an on-time start.  All riders must be present for the briefing in order to participate.

Steady rain cancels this ride.  If the ride is cancelled due to weather, a notice will be posted in the comments 2 hours prior and the ride leader will not be at the start.  Be sure to check back on this web site for weather updates if the weather is in doubt. Please bring fenders if the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast

Comments

Please bring fenders and dress for the rain.  It is likely that we will get hit with some rain part way through the ride, and we will decide at that point whether to continue or turn back.
