Leading up to Bike Everywhere day on May 18th, Kirkland Bicycle is partnering with Chainline Brewing to offer FREE community education classes. These events are intended to promote and support new and returning bike riders in and round Kirkland neighborhoods.

“Basics of Bike Commuting” will highlight the essentials required to commute to work or school in the PNW. We’ll also discuss the popularity of E-bikes and what they offer compared to traditional means. This will be an event geared for novice and experienced riders alike. We will also discuss ideas to get more children riding to school whenever possible. The following is a general outline of what will be covered:

  • Essential, season-specific apparel. (Summer vs. winter gear)
  • Best ways to keep warm and dry.
  • Features and benefits of E-bikes
  • Accessories for the ride. (Backpacks, panniers, lighting, bells, phone cases, etc.)
  • Having the right tires for your commute.
  • Making sure the bike is ready to roll! Discuss the importance of a safety check.
