Start with a circuit of the Maple Leaf Reservoir Park and thread through streets to Bothell Way and Log Boom Park, followed by Juanita and Holmes Point Drives, central Kirkland, the new 520 Trail west across the bridge, and finally 20th Ave NE from the U District back to Maple Leaf.  Three good climbs, three fast descents, assorted rollers, and the long gradual rise up 20th at the end.  No planned food stops, so bring a snack to eat along the way.  There is a small park bathroom across the ball fields from 14th Avenue NE.  We'll stop at the Log Boom Park bathrooms at Mile 7.7, about 30 minutes into the ride, and at Kirkland's Marina Park at Mile 17.6.  A RideWithGPS route map and cue sheet are at the Link, below.  If you need a cue sheet, please print one.

Meet on the east side of lower Maple Leaf Park below the reservoir, just up from the intersection of 14th Avenue NE and NE 82nd Street.  If you drive, park on 14th Avenue NE.  Metro Route 73 will get you to 15th Avenue NE and NE 80th or NE 85th.  Metro Route 67 will get you to Roosevelt Way NE and NE 85th.

Please be ready to ride 15 minutes before start time so we can do the safety briefing and get on the road.  Bring spare tube, tools, patch kit, and skills to fix flats, and have a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails.  If roads are wet, roostertails from bare tires are a safety issue for other riders.  Fenders with long mudflaps show that you care.

Please RSVP by clicking on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above, then checking the box for "Waiver Signature" and filling in the contact information.  This will save us time at the start.  Note that the on-line RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account, which is easy to set up, but if you don't want one of those just come anyway and sign the hard-copy attendance/hold harmless sheet.

The listed phone will not be answered on the morning of the ride.  If weather conditions meet the "Showers cancel" criterion, I will post a ride-cancelled note in Comments, below, at least 2 hours prior and not go to the start.  Ice or snow also cancel.  Please check here before leaving for the ride.
