Scenic social ride in Mt. Vernon area passing tulips fields. We will exit Mt. Vernon along the Skagit River and head north to top of Bow Hill. The Bread Farm in Edison is our first stop.  If you are not riding ultra light, you may want to purchase a loaf of bread made from all local products, including the wheat. Tweets Cafe will be our next stop for a coffee/snack break. Bring cash, since Tweets Cafe does not accept credit cards. Be prepared for headwinds as we head south on our return to Mt Vernon. The return route takes us pass Bayview State Park, along Padilla Bay and passes the Tulip Town and Roozengarde tulip fields. There will be stops for photo opts on this ride, but leader does not plan on stopping to visit display gardens.

Ride will be cancelled three hours prior to its start (7 am) in comments section on this page if weather is wet and ride leader will not be at start.

Comments

Be aware that the annual Tulip Ride (25miles, leisurely) had already been scheduled at the time, date, place as this ride.  It has always used the parking area to the left upon entering Edgewater Park; there is plenty of parking to the right as well.  However the Park manager asks that we not park directly next to the restrooms and leave our cars there for the day.  The annual Tulip Ride uses a completely different route than this ride.

Weather is a bit iffy, but change of rain keeps falling. Ride can be shorten, if necessary, without missing most of the highlights of the ride. Hope to see you in Mt Vernon.
