Invitation: Come and check out the the beauty of Snohomish County this fall; we will cover pretty much every corner! Routes start around 35 miles at the beginning of each month and increase to about 50 at the end of each month.
Where to find us: We will meet in the gravel parking lot.
Today's Routes: Order the sun! This route is packed with views of the Puget Sound, Mt Baker, the Cascades, the Olympics and islands!! We start in the Snohomish Valley along the Snohomish River and the railroad. We will briefly stop at the Snohomish Public Bathrooms at mile 6. Then continue through the Ebey Slough, over the Hewitt Trestle, up to the tip of Everett where the Snohomish River enters Possession Sound. At mile 20 we stop at the Seas the Day Café and Waterfront Center. Just in case you have gotten cold, the inclines will soon warm you up. The Steady Pace Group will enjoy the views at Harborview Park. The other paces will continue to the Mukilteo Lighthouse. All will then pedal up Glenwood. After that it's a breeze downhill with some nice views of the valley.
Steady Pace: 32 miles and about 1,500 ft elevation, all other paces: 38 miles and about 2,000 ft elevation
Cue-sheets are not provided; please print your copy. Long fenders are mandatory if the roads are wet or there is rain in the forecast (please!!).
Paces: Steady (12-14 mi/h), Moderate (14-16 mi/h), Brisk (16-18 mi/h) and Vigorous (18-20 mi/h). If you are new to the Free Group Rides, please read an introduction at the top of this page. Cue sheets are not provided; please print your own copy.
Registration: Your registration on this website is appreciated; all you'll have to do at the start of the ride is check off your name. You don't need to be a member of the club, but you do have to create an account. If you have any questions about this process, just contact the series director.
Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to check off your name or sign the waiver and be part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled, it will be posted by 7:00 am in the comment section. In that case the ride leaders will not be at the start.

It is dry! However, I just checked portions of the route and many of the shoulders/bike lanes and center lanes in Everett (and even in the Valley) are still covered with snow-slush. Right now it's 32F, so it's not going anywhere. These conditions are not safe.
