Passport to Pain - Vashon Island
When:
Sat. Sep 10, 2016 7:00am
More than just 80 miles, 10,000 feet and terrific views of Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and the Olympics: The toughest ride in Puget Sound combined with the best cycling party ever. Hordes of enthusiastic volunteers with great food plus entertaining themes and costumes (last year's rider favorite was black leather, chains and whips and the slogan "Your Pain Is Our Pleasure") will make you smile through the pain of our short, steep but scenic hills. You'll laugh with the Devil himself on aptly named Burma Road. Collect a lei at an early checkpoint, and at the last you'll receive a set of colorful souvenir handlebar streamers. From there, it's (almost) all downhill to our delicious end-of-the-ride barbeque. Organized by Vashon Crew, a fund-raiser for our tiny but national powerhouse Junior Rowers program (grades 7-12). Start/finish at our boathouse on Jensen Point. 50- and 30-mile options. Bring your friends and family to enjoy the sights of Vashon and our companion "Passport to Pleasure" dining, wine-tasting and shopping tour. See our website for more info and link to Registration.
