Major Taylor Project Ride Leader Volunteer
Interested in becoming a Volunteer Ride Leader for the Major Taylor Project?
Volunteer Ride Leaders attend Major Taylor Program after-school clubs and ensure students are safe, supported, and having fun!
MTP Ride Leaders are essential to the success of the Major Taylor Project. We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can commit to a weekly shift of 2-3 hours for our after-school bike clubs (ideally for a whole school-year, but we welcome volunteers who are available for a single semester as well). Volunteers assist our staff members in teaching the students the basics of safe cycling, group riding, and so much more!
-
Role: Assist the Major Taylor staff members in creating a safe, welcoming, and fun learning environment for our students. You'll be riding your bike with the students.
-
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours/week. Same time every week, after the school day is over (typically somewhere between 3pm-6pm).
-
Location: We will place you in one of our MTP schools and do our best to make sure the location is convenient for you. You can see a list of our schools here.
-
Other Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age, be able to provide your own bicycle and helmet, and have experience riding in groups or basic cycling knowledge.
As an added bonus, all of our volunteers are eligible for comped registration for nearly all of our major rides, starting with as little as 4 hours of volunteer time. Read more on our Volunteer Benefits page.
