Donating Bikes and Gear

Donating Your Items to the Major Taylor Project

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Major Taylor Project with your gently used bikes, bike parts, or bike gear! Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we are currently not accepting donations at our office.

But do not fear! Here are three great ways you can support our community and help to empower diverse ridership through your bike donations:

Bike Works

promotes the bicycle as a vehicle for change to empower youth and build resilient communities. They are fully invested in their community and host many youth, community, and environmental programs such as their bike giveaway program, Bikes-for-All!, and free repair services in historically marginalized communities with their mobile bike shop, the BikeMobile. They also make it easy to donate your bike, parts, or accessories for use in their social enterprise bike shop and bicycle education programs

‘Decolonizing bikes

is a volunteer community-led, community-focused bicycle project organized to connect unwanted bicycles with BIPOC, unhoused or financially-struggling individuals.’ If you’d like to support this effort and you have a second-hand bike with minimal maintenance needed and or extra parts to pass on please contact whistlingmarmot@pm.me

‘The Bikery

located in Judkin’s Park, empowers Seattle bicyclists and encourages cycling through collaborative hands-on education, social engagement, and fun.’ Although their workspace is currently closed they are accepting donated bikes and bike parts. You can make an appointment make an appointment to drop them off.

For any other questions please contact info@cascade.org. We look forward to opening our doors again soon!
