COVID-19 Recreate Responsibly

As recreation lands across Washington start to re-open this week--including King County regional trails and parks, and trails on State Parks land--Cascade is reminding people to “practice safe cycling” to avoid spreading or contracting COVID-19.

While recreation areas are beginning to re-open for day use, bike camping is not allowed. While this may change as the season progresses, one thing is certain: this year’s hiking, biking and outdoor recreation season will be different than in previous years.

Cascade will provide updates and guidance as conditions change, but we encourage users to “know before you go” to find out if trails at your destination are open, and to remain flexible in your planning so that trails and other destinations don’t become crowded.

The #RecreateResponsibly toolkit is available for you to download in English, Spanish and Chinese. This resource provides updated guidelines, sample social media posts, and graphics for you to share.
