Join us for a ride starting from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville on an approximate 35 mile route at a Moderate pace (14-16 mph on the flats). This is a route which merges hill climbing with some fairly flat terrain using bike trails, bike lanes and largely quiet neighborhood streets.
This week we will ride though Kirkland and over the SR-520 Bridge to Seattle for Coffee. We will return through North Seattle and around the top of Lake Washington. We will have a short rest stop) at mile 9.4 (Kirkland Marina). We will have a 25 minute combined coffee/snack and rest stop in Seattle at Zoka's at mile 19.6. Please bring suitable funds if you plan to purchase food or drink at our coffee/rest stop. A downloadable ride map and cue sheet for GPS navigation devices are at the Link below. This is a mentoring ride for Jeff Samiljan.
Let's meet at the Wilmot Gateway Park by the tables under the pergolas in the park at 10:00 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend the major hills at our own pace and will regroup at the top as needed. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms and water are available at the start and at the rest stops. Please bring any snacks you may want to have during the ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Note Route Change as of March 15 2023
We received late breaking news that WSDOT is closing the SR520 bike trail this coming weekend for construction work. Consequently, we are moving our ride to an eastside route as shown at: New Mar 18 Route
No change in starting location or time - this route is 38 miles long with 2027 feet elevation - so it is a bit longer and a bit hillier.
Thanks
Alan
coffee stop on the new route ?
I like a coffee stop so just wondering
Coffee Stop at mile 28.6 on new route
We'll have an optional rest stop at mile 9.3 on the way out at the Kirkland Marina but our first scheduled rest stop will be at Bellevue Downtown Park at mile 17.5. Our coffee stop will be at mile 28.6.

We will stay with the new route
We will stay with the new route as indicated above for this Saturday ride. As of Thursday, the SR520 project people reversed course and decided they would leave the bike trail open this weekend rather than close it as they indicated on Wednesday. However, as we have already re-routed, we will stay with the updated route as noted above. It is a great route and we'll be able to avoid some activities that may jam up the pedestrian part of the Montlake Bridge - https://gohuskies.com/news/2023/3/15/womens-rowing-uw-rowing-season-starts-with-122nd-class-day-regatta
