Join us for a 37.3-mile ride from Tye Lake Park at a Moderate pace (14-16 mph on the flats.)
This route explores some pretty rural areas of Snohomish County north and east of Monroe as a way to get to Sultan and then returns to the start via Ben Howard Road with its views of the Skykomish River.
Let's meet at the in the park's south parking lot and please be ready to ride at 8:55 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally.
Restrooms are available at the start. Drinking water may not be available at the park, so, please, arrive at the start with full bottles. We will stop at Sultan Bakery at mile point 24.2 for a snack/restroom/water break.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

Saturday's forecast
The forecast for tomorrow morning in Monroe and Sultan is showers or rain, depending on which app I consult. I will be awake by 6:45 a.m. to consult the radar and see what the morning actually brings. Because Monroe is a bit of a drive for most of us, I'll try to make a go/no go call then rather than wait until start time. So check in here before you leave your house for Tye Lake Park. One more thing: As I suspected the drinking fountains at the park have been shut off for the season.
Ride Cancelled
It is already raining in Monroe and Sultan. While there may be some breaks in the precipitation, the National Weather Service has issued warnings about possible flash flooding and land slides in the area through late afternoon.
