Join us for a ride starting from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville on an approximate 44 mile route at a low Moderate pace (14-16 mph on the flats)!  This is a route starting on the Eastside which merges moderate hill climbing with some fairly flat terrain using bike trails, bike lanes, and largely quiet neighborhood streets for most of the route.

Now that we are into our Pacific Northwest Fall season, it's a great time to take advantage of the generally cooler weather and extend your riding season! This week we will venture from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville to Issaquah for coffee using a generally counter-clockwise route encircling Lake Sammamish.  We will have a very short rest stop at approximately mile 14.2 at Lake Hills Community Park on our way out.  We will have an approximate 25 minute coffee/snack/water/restroom stop for coffee (and snacks as you choose) at mile approximately mile 22.5.  On our return, we'll have the option of an extra rest stop, if needed, at approximately mile 34.8.   A downloadable ride map and cue sheet for GPS navigation devices is at the Link, below.

Let's meet at the Wilmot Gateway Park by the tables under the Pergolas in the park at 10:00am, ready to ride, for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a planned departure right after completion of the Safety Briefing.  Please note that you must: a) register for the ride using the red "Register Now" button shown above; and b) be present for the safety briefing at 10:00am, else you won't be able to ride with us.

We will climb and descend the major hills at our own pace.  Faster riders are welcome but for them the ride becomes self-paced.   We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. Please bring funds appropriate for your needs if you wish to purchase coffee or snacks at our coffee stop.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!

Comments

We will NOT be using the original ride route as significant rain and winds are strongly predicted today during our ride times.

I have laid out an alternate but shorter route which keeps us closer to the finish area.  We get a climb up Education Hill early in the route.  Coffee (if appropriate) is at Redmond Town Center.  Total route is 21.7 miles / 693 feet.  We will have the option of a North Creek loop (8.5 miles) if weather conditions (and attitudes) are favorable.

Dress appropriate for our conditions and full length fenders will be appreciated.
