Join us for a ride from Matthews Beach on a 39 mile route at Steady pace (12-14mph)!

This urban but scenic ride starts with some good climbs, through Ravenna, Capitol Hill, Beacon Hill where we join the Chief Sealth Trail with its ups and downs.  After Kubota Garden, the way back is mellower, along Lake Washington Boulevard, through the Arboretum and back via the Burke Gilman Trail.

Let's meet at the Matthews Beach Park and please be ready to ride at 10:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently, after hills and turns.

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at Jefferson Park and Kubota Garden (miles 15 and 22.) We'll allow time for a quick stroll at Kubota Garden.  We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Caffe Vita at mile 26.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!

Comments

Based on the radar and reports that showers could be heavy, I am cancelling this ride. Will reschedule this route for Dec 10th and hope for better weather.
