Join us for a gravel ride from Homestead Valley Trailhead parking area on a 37 mile route at Moderate pace 14-16! Tires of at least 28mm recommended for this ride.
This fun 38-mile loop starts at the Palouse to Cascades Trail "Homestead Valley Trailhead parking area" just south of I-90 at Exit 38, an immediate right off SE Homestead Valley Road. We go 14 mi on the Trail to the Snoqualmie tunnel - you'll need lights & jacket. Then past Hyak and ski areas to SE Denny Creek Road for a long 6 mile paved downhill to Denny Creek. Next cross over I-90 at exit 47 and take Tinkham Road (forest road NF-55) for 6 mi to McClellan Butte hiking trail. We will hike-a-bike up this trail 0.5 mile to return to the Palouse to Cascades Trail, then back downhill back to start.
Let's meet at the "Homestead Valley Trailhead parking area" described above, and please be ready to ride at 9am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are not available at the start, but can be found at several points on the Palouse to Cascades Trail. There are no food or water breaks, so bring some snack food.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if for wet or muddy trails, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Thank each of you for signing
Thank each of you for signing up. This ride should be sunny and dry with temps in the mid 50's. It's cross-posted with the Facebook "All-in Gravel" group - if you have fun riding, check out that group too. I will post pictures from the ride on that site.
