Join us for a ride starting from Blyth Park in Bothell on an approximate 33 mile route at a Steady pace (12-14 mph)!  This is a route starting on the Eastside which merges moderate hill climbing with some fairly flat terrain using bike trails, bike lanes, and largely quiet neighborhood streets for most of the route.

Now that our Pacific Northwest Summer is almost wrapped up, you still have a great opportunity to continue (or start?) your "summer" recreational riding!   This week we will venture from Blyth Park in Bothell which should keep us out of the way of the riders participating in the Woodinville Wine Ride.  Our route will take us through a combination of parts of Kirkland, Medina, the 520 Bridge, and Seattle neighborhoods.  We will have a very short rest stop at approximately mile 13.6 at Medina Beach Park on our way out.  We will have an approximate 25 minute coffee/snack/water/restroom stop at the Lake Forest Park Town Center at approximately mile 29.3.

Let's meet at Blyth Park in Bothell by the restrooms at 0930, ready to ride, for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a planned departure right after completion of the Safety Briefing.  Please note that you must be a) pre-registered for this ride via the Cascade Bicycle Club website; and, b) you must be present for the safety briefing at 0930, else you won't be able to ride with us.

We will climb and descend the major hills at our own pace and our goal will be to regroup frequently - this is a social ride after all!  Faster riders are welcome but for them the ride becomes self-paced.   We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

At the time of posting, the regular restrooms at Blyth Park are closed for maintenance but portable toilets are available at the start and water is available. Please bring funds appropriate for your needs if you wish to purchase coffee or snacks at our coffee stop.

Parking is usually available at Blyth Park and is also available at the Wayne Golf Course parking lot about 1/4 mile away. For the new start location this week, please plan your arrival and ride preparations schedule to be present and ready to ride at our safety briefing at 0930.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!

Looking forward to Joining Al Miller and this group of Cyclists!!!! However, be aware of the Weather Forecast for this weekend, and prepare for cooler weather than we have become used to, and potential (to likely) showers during this weekend! Thanks.

Thanks so much in advance for mounting those full length fenders and not coating your fellow riders in road grime.

While I am hoping for a great ride and great riding conditions this Sunday, I find it prudent to consider options.  If conditions are in the gray zone between "Let's Ride" and "Cancellation", I have drafted a very flat out-and-back route that avoids significant downhills and provides easy ways to shorten the route if conditions deteriorate during the ride.  We'll assess the situation on Sunday morning and decide the best course of action based on the weather at that time.
