Join us for a ride starting from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville on a nearly 39 mile route at a Steady pace (12-14 mph)! This is a route starting on the Eastside which merges moderate hill climbing with some fairly flat terrain using bike trails, bike lanes, and largely quiet neighborhood streets for most of the route.
Now that our Pacific Northwest Summer is over half over, it's time to start (or continue) your summer recreational riding! This week we will venture from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville through Kirkland to Medina. We will have a short rest stops at approximately mile 9.5 at the Kirkland Marina and at Medina Beach Park at mile 15.2.....for the latter stop, this is a great location for a photo op! We will have an approximate 25 minute coffee/snack/water/restroom stop at the top of Rose Hill in Kirkland at mile 25.7.
Let's meet at the Wilmot Gateway Park by the tables under the Pergolas in the park at 0930, ready to ride, for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a planned departure right after completion of the Safety Briefing. Please note that you must be a) pre-registered for this ride via the Cascade Bicycle Club website; and, b) you must be present for the safety briefing at 0930, else you won't be able to ride with us.
Parking has been usually easiest in the parking lots by the athletic fields across the street from Wilmot Gateway Park. However, recent construction activity has reduced the number of available spaces such that some riders have told me they needed to do some street parking just east of the athletic fields. Please allow some extra time for this possibility if you drive to the start.
We will climb and descend the major hills at our own pace and our goal will be to regroup frequently - this is a social ride after all! Faster riders are welcome but for them the ride becomes self-paced. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. Please bring funds appropriate for your needs if you wish to purchase coffee or snacks at our coffee stop.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Route looks great
The paving work by the Medina and Bellevue parts of our route appeared to be pretty much completed as my final pre-ride today - everyone loves riding on newly installed smooth asphalt. Maybe we will get lucky for some sun such as we had today - pic from Medina Park Beach.
