Join us for a ride starting from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville on an approximate 38 mile route at a Steady pace (12-14 mph)! This is a route starting on the Eastside which merges moderate hill climbing with some fairly flat terrain using bike trails, bike lanes, and largely quiet neighborhood streets for most of the route.
Now that our Pacific Northwest Summer is in full swing, it's time to start (or continue) your summer recreational riding! This week we will venture from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville through Bothell/North Creek, Kirkland and into Redmond. We will have a short rest stop at approximately mile 13.9 at the Kirkland Marina. We will have an approximate 25 minute coffee/snack/water/restroom stop at the Blazing Bagels in Redmond (mile 27.1).
Let's meet at the Wilmot Gateway Park by the tables under the Pergolas in the park at 0930, ready to ride, for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a planned departure right after completion of the Safety Briefing. Please note that you must be a) pre-registered for this ride via the Cascade Bicycle Club website; and, b) you must be present for the safety briefing at 0930, else you won't be able to ride with us.
We will climb and descend the major hills at our own pace and our goal will be to regroup frequently - this is a social ride after all! Faster riders are welcome but for them the ride becomes self-paced. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. Please bring funds appropriate for your needs if you wish to purchase coffee or snacks at our coffee stop.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Reminder on Parking near start
As has been true for a couple of weeks, the parking lot by the athletic fields across the street from Wilmot Park has reduced capacity due to construction work. Street parking east of that parking lot has been generally available but you might need to add in a little extra time to locate a spot and arrive "ready to ride" by 9:30am at the tables under the pergolas in Wilmot Park (as indicated on the locator map in the rise posting). The route is a fun one to ride as can be seen from my pictures from today's pre-ride!
