Join us for social ride, on mostly quiet, rural roads, from Monroe around beautiful Lk. Roesiger, returning via Machias, the Centennial Trail, and Snohomish. Meet in Monroe at Lewis Street Park (near the intersection of SR 203 and Sumac Drive).

Pace will be Steady (12-14 MPH). Our goal will be to stay together. We’ll climb and descend hills at our own pace and regroup if we get separated. We will not exceed posted speed limits on the Centennial Trail. Electric-assist bikes are welcome.

Restrooms will be available at the start. We’ll stop at the Lake Roesiger Store (Mile 14) where snacks and portable restrooms are available.  We’ll also have a restroom break at Machias Trailhead Park, mile point 27.  Lunch will be at Snohomish Bakery (Mile 32), then it’s a mostly flat 9-mile return to Monroe.

Please be ready to ride at 9:30 AM when we will do the safety briefing and get on the road. IMPORTANT TO NOTE:  If you are not present and ready at 9:30 when we start the safety briefing, you will not be allowed to participate.

Bring ID, a spare tube, tools, and knowledge to fix a flat, a cell phone in case you cannot finish, two water bottles, pocket snacks, and money for lunch just in case. Please have fenders if the roads are wet or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start, and Ride Leader(s) may not be at the start location. It is always wise to check the Comments before you drive to the start of a ride. Rain during the ride could modify the route.

Ride with GPS route map and cue sheet are at the link, below. If you want a cue sheet, please print it.

We hope you can join us!

Comments

As of 7pm Thursday, Probability of measurable precipitation for the ride time span, anywhere along the route, is 40% or less.

Expected total precipitation is forecast at trace - 0.02" or less - for the 9am-3pm duration.  I'm planning on sweating more than that.
