Join us for a ride starting from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville on an approximate 43 mile route at a Steady pace (12-14 mph)! This is a route starting on the Eastside which merges moderate hill climbing with some fairly flat terrain using bike trails, bike lanes, and largely quiet neighborhood streets for most of the route.
Now that our Pacific Northwest Summer is in full swing, it's time to start (or continue) your summer recreational riding! This week we will venture from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville to the Issaquah Coffee Company in Gilman Village for coffee in a generally clockwise loop encircling Lake Sammamish and will include riding through a part of residential Bellevue. We will have a very short rest stop at approximately mile 9.2 at Marymoor Park on our way out. We will have an approximate 25 minute coffee/snack/water/restroom stop at the Issaquah Coffee Company at mile 20.7.
A special note for this ride: Construction will have been initiated on an E Lk Sammamish Parkway project but the construction team is planning to provide a short detour from the Parkway onto an adjacent section of the trail and then returning to the Parkway. It should only be a short distance for us to navigate.
Let's meet at the Wilmot Gateway Park by the tables under the Pergolas in the park at 0930, ready to ride, for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a planned departure right after completion of the Safety Briefing. Please note that you must be a) pre-registered for this ride via the Cascade Bicycle Club website; and, b) you must be present for the safety briefing at 0930, else you won't be able to ride with us.
We will climb and descend the major hills at our own pace and our goal will be to regroup frequently - this is a social ride after all! Faster riders are welcome but for them the ride becomes self-paced. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. Please bring funds appropriate for your needs if you wish to purchase coffee or snacks at our coffee stop.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

FYI as of Monday Aug 16
FYI - We just received a report from another Cascade group ride that the Issaquah Coffee Company was closed on Monday Aug 16 "due to a COVID case in their staff". We will monitor the situation and make any needed local re-routing as required. There are multiple locations for nearby coffee stops so we should have plenty of options.
3 key updates (Aug 19)
For those joining us Sunday morning, please be advised that the contractor for Woodinville has fenced off about half of the parking by the athletic fields. While parking has not been reported as an issue to date, with the decreased number of parking spaces, you are encouraged to factor this into your plans as we will depart after the safety briefing at 9:30 am. There is usually some street parking in the area but that could add time to your schedule.
I also rode the route with the detour noted in the ride posting in place and it shouldn't be an issue for us. Lastly, the Issaquah Coffee Company was up and running today!
Hopefully we will see you this Sunday!
