Join us for a ride from Woodinville around Lake Sammamish on a 45 mile route at a moderate pace of 14-16 MPH
We will start our ride at the Woodinville Sports Field and ride on the Sammamish River Trail and then around beautiful Lake Sammamish, thru Redmond and Woodinville back roads and back to the start. We will stop at Lake Sammamish State Park for restroom and water stop at mile 18 and at Perrigo Park for restroom and water stop at mile 33. We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum 15 MPH. Please bring enough food and snacks for the ride.
Let's meet at the Woodinville Sports Field parking lot and please be ready to ride at 8:45 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. There is plenty of parking, restroom and water available at the start.
Ride with GPS route map and cue sheet are at the Link, below. If you want a cue sheet, please print it.
Bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; and have a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails. If roads are wet, fenders with long mudflaps are very highly recommended - otherwise you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
Please join us for a fun ride!

E Lk Sammamish Pkwy ROAD CLOSURE
Due to construction, a section of E. Lk. Sammamish Pkwy. is closed through Mon Sept. 6th, to all vehicle traffic during the day. I do not know if they will allow cyclists through, or whether the Lk. Sammamish trail can be used as a detour. The closure is from the SE 200 block (Ebright Crk), up to Louis Thompson Rd.

If the trail is not open, detour route would be to climb SE 43rd Way (430' climb at 7% grade), go north along 228 Ave SE to SE 30 St, west along SE 30 St/222nd Pl SE/SE 28 St/216 Ave SE/SE 32St to 212 Ave SE, then north along 212 Ave SE and down Louis Thompson Rd. This adds quite a bit of climbing. (Taking a detour up SE 212th Way is Not An Option due to steep, winding road with no shoulders.)
Lk Sammamish trail will remain open for cyclists
With regard to the E Lk Sammamish Pkwy closure, the parallel trail will be available for pedestrians and cyclists. I believe this is a gravel-surface trail.
