This beautiful loop ride from Lake Wilderness to the Green River Gorge is one of my favorite routes.  We start with a descent to the Cedar River then ride through the forest, to riverside Dorre Don.  There is a short section (0.2 miles) of packed gravel on the Cedar River Trail followed by a short 7% climb on pavement (200 yards) to quiet neighborhoods and some fun rollers through the Landsburg Reach Natural Area .  Lunch is at S'wiched about 11:30 am (mile 17.4).  After lunch, we head south through the forest to Cumberland and descend to the Green River Gorge for a photo op.  There is a natural spring where you can fill your water bottle for 2 cents.  The gradual 3-mile climb up to Black Diamond brings us to our second rest stop (mile 35) at Lake Sawyer Regional Park Trailhead.  We should be back to Lake Wilderness about 3:00pm.

Start: Let's meet in the Lake Wilderness Lodge parking lot and be ready to ride at 9:30 am. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group.

Restrooms: In the park at the start, Lake Francis Park (mile 8.1) optional, Lunch (mile 17.4), Trailhead (mile 39.7)

Regroup: We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, regrouping at the tops and bottoms.

What to Bring: 1) Money for lunch at S'wiched - See menu link below;  2) A spare tube and tools to fix a flat;  3) Two full water bottles;  4) A cell phone in case you cannot finish the ride.

Cue Sheet: If you would like a Route Map and Cue Sheet, print one from the RWGPS link below.

Cancelation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader will not be at the start.

Hope you can join us!

Due to the predicted excessive heat, all riders canceled so I decided not to ride alone
