It’s FALL … time to start riding for pastries! Come join us in our ongoing quest to find the best pastries on the Puget Sound. This week, we will ride out of Gas Works Park parking lot (east side). We will head east on Burke-Gilman Trail to UW/Montlake then head down south toward Leschi. We will climb a longish uphill through a green belt of Cheasty Blvd to Beacon Hill where we stop for very delightful pastries at Despi Delite Bakery. We will ride back through Central District and backside of Capitol Hill to catch another green belt of Interlaken. On this route, you will enjoy a view of Lake Washington and fall foliage!
Pace: Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills. We will have 3 paces for this ride. Please find a pace that fits you. If you plan to ride faster or slower, you will be asked to move up or down the pace or ride on your own so that each pace group has an appropriate regrouping time.
Regroups/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with waits at the top of hills and all critical turns along with photo op stops along the way. We will not stop for mechanical issues. Please come prepared the necessary equipment you need to take care of flats or other problems on your own. Please print a cue sheet from the route link in the event that you get separated from the group.
Rest Stops: There are restrooms at the start. A rest stop for bathroom usage and filling water is at mp 17.3 at Jefferson Community Center. We will stop for pastries a mile after that, but the bakery does NOT have a public restroom.
Requirements: Please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride start so you can get prepared to roll out at the posted time, sign a waiver, and hear the ride briefing. As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet and come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation.
RSVP: Please RSVP for the ride either here or on Meetup if you have an account, so we can plan for the appropriate number of Ride Leaders. Meetup is a great place for ride discussions and sharing photos after the ride.
Cancellation Policy: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.
Start Location Notes: Bathrooms at start. We will meet in east side of the parking space.

Ride CANCELLED
This rain system came rather sooner than I hoped. Rain mixed with fallen leaves make unsafe riding condition. I will repeat this route in the near future. Stay tuned. Thanks!
