Join us for a ride from Auburn Community and Event Center on a 36.5 mile route at moderate pace of 14-16 mph on the flat sections. We will ride out Green Valley Road and down to the Green River Gorge. Returning from the Gorge we will stop at the Black Diamond Bakery for coffee and snacks before returning to the start via Auburn/Black Diamond Rd. and Lake Holm Rd. It is a scenic route with mostly low traffic roads. Some hills but none too difficult. See route map below for details
Let's meet at the Community and Event Center, and please be ready to ride at 9:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup as needed so that no one is left behind. The ride leader will ride at a moderate pace. Faster riders are welcome but please regroup as appropriate.
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restroom break at mile 10 and for coffee/snacks at mile 23.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat or minor mechanical issues. Bring a cell phone in case of major breakdown. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
