Join us for a weekly ride from the Lynnwood Transit Center! The intent is to ride weekly with longer and more elevation as we go through the season and the days become longer.
Please meet at the transit center at 5:45 for our pre-ride safety briefing and ensure you are ready to ride; we will depart at 6:00 pm. A picture of the transit center is in the attachments of where to meet; there will be other Cascade NERD pace group meeting in another area of the P&R, so if unsure when you pull up, ask the ride leader and they will direct you to the right start.
Please make sure your bike is in good working order by having it checked by a local bike shop. Also required are a properly fitting helmet, working tail light, and a headlight as we may be getting back around sunset. It is recommended to bring water, nutrition, and a jacket (for rain/wind).
We will attempt to keep the stated pace on the flats (a little higher on the slight downhills and a little slower on the slight uphills). Riders should take steeper climbs and descents at their own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at safe points if we get separated.
There are no restrooms at the start so please be prepared. A restroom can be available along the route, please ask the ride leader.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat or other minor mechanical and make sure you know how to use them (see the YouTube video in the linked below on fixing flats). We will wait a short period of time if you can fix a mechanical issue quickly; however, we will have to keep the group moving if the repair will take longer than a few minutes so make sure you have the route and a cell phone to arrange a ride home if necessary.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
This ride capacity is currently limited to 15 people. If you find that registration is full when you go to sign up, please leave a comment that you would like to ride so we can gauge demand. If there is enough interest, a second group will be considered based on ride leader availability.
We hope you can join us!
