This is a casual ride from Westlake Park in downtown Seattle to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. It is a one-way ride, and participants may use the Link light rail station at SeaTac to return or ride back on their own.

Pretend that you need to catch your flight, but the roads are all closed and public transit is shut down, and all you have is your bicycle to get to the airport!

We will meet near the waterfall/fountain in Westlake Park (401 Pine Street, Seattle, WA 98101). Bicycle access is off protected bike lanes on nearby streets (Pine St, 4th Ave). Parking can be found in nearby parking garages. Transit access includes the Westlake Link light rail station less than a block away.

We will take breaks at South Park Community Center (mile 8.0), Sunset Park (mile 12.4), airplane viewing area (mile 14.3), and for a group photo at the airport entrance sign (mile 19.0).

Please note: this ride is expected to last around 2-2.5 hours.

Click Register Now above if you would like to attend this ride.  Please note that pre-registration is required.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the ride start (i.e. arrive at 9:30). Please bring basic tools (extra tubes, patch kit, etc.) as well as water and snacks, as it may be warm that day. Have a back-up plan in case you are unable to finish (friend/family who can pick you up, ORCA card to use public transit).

Cancellations: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride, and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location.

Cue sheet: Route link cue sheets will not be provided. Please print one using the RideWithGPS link below if desired.

E-bikes: This is an e-bike-friendly ride. Please consult the "Can I ride my e-bike on a Free Group Ride?" section on the Cascade Free Group Rides FAQ's link for more information. Be sure to have your battery/power pack fully charged before you arrive for the ride.

Hi,

My 15 years old son will also join me for this ride. I did not find any place to register him while registering myself. I am cascade club family member. Can you please add him to the ride as well ? His name is "Om Shah".

Thanks & Regards,

Ankit Shah.

Hi Ankit!

That's great you and your son would like to join! You have my permission* to bring Om on the ride (hope he has fun, too!).

I think you would have to create a separate free account for Om, but we can figure that out. It's been a little different with having everyone pre-register on the website.

*Just following this section from the "Information for parents" page which says that the Ride Leader must give permission for a child 15 & under to join at least 24 hours before the ride: https://cascade.org/rides-and-events-free-group-rides/information-parents

See y'all on Sunday!
