Join us for a ride from Southworth to Port Orchard and return on a 28.6 mile route at a leisurely pace of 10-12 MPH!

This ride checks the box for scenic including 2 ferry rides, lots of coastal views, camel viewing and a side trip to Manchester State Park.

Let's meet at the Lincoln Park parking lot (upper) at 9:30 AM. Parking is free in the upper lot only. Unload your bike and ride downhill to the ferry terminal. Plan on arriving at the ferry terminal by 9:40 to purchase ticket to SOUTHWORTH and get in line with other bicyclists.

FARES: Adult Passenger (ages 19-64) $7.10. Senior (ages 65+) $3.55. Bicycle surcharge $1.00

The ferry to Southworth departs at 10:05 AM. The safety briefing will be on the ferry boat.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.

Restrooms are available at the start inside the building. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 8.4 in Manchester State Park.  We’ll also stop for lunch at Farmer Rosie at mile 15.3 in Port Orchard.

Allow extra time to travel to the ferry terminal since the West Seattle Bridge is closed. See directions link below!

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please carry a full water bottle with you. Helmets are required! Masks are required on the ferry.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!

Hi Gail,

looking forward to the ride. Can you please clarify the ferry rides? Is it Southworth & then Bremerton to downtown?  Or back on Southworth? Did this ride a few years ago. I remember the camels! The we ended back Seattle downtown ferry terminal. Wondering if it's the same ride?

thank you,

Carmen

Thanks!

Hi Carmen - we ride back to Southworth and catch the return ferry to Fauntleroy in West Seattle. Plan on stopping to see the camel and feeding him some carrots. I'll bring some.

There is a large group of riders signed up. Is the parking lot big or small? What is Cascades posting policy for carpooling??

Anyone, near Stone Way and N45th Street, need a ride ? I have room for one more bike (must be without front fenders) on my roof rack. Thanks.

Ride past the car kiosk down to the building on the left. Go inside to purchase your ticket. Then line up outside near the building with your bike.

Lunch plans have changed since we have a large number of riders signed up. The plan is to eat at Whiskey Gulch in Annapolis near the foot ferry dock. You can purchase sandwiches, burgers and tacos. The restaurant can handle groups and has bike parking and outdoor seating. We'll still ride over to Port Orchard after lunch.

Wondering if I should bring lunch or plan to buy. Will there be enough time to order, wait, eat, digest a bit? Also, how large is the group? Thanks!

The plan is to buy lunch so bring your credit card. My guess lunch will take 45 - 60 minutes. We have 40 riders signed up.

Can you use an Orca card to take the ferry?  Or are you required to purchase a ferry ticket?  Thanks.
