Early start, short ride, beat the heat!
Join us for a ride from Blyth Park in Bothell on a 28 mile route at moderate pace (14-16 mph) around the north end of Lake Washington, We'll head south through Kirkland, take the 520 trail to the bridge overlook, cross the bridge and have a coffee stop at University Village before heading north on the Burke Gilman Trail and Sand Point Way.
Let's meet in the Blyth Park parking lot at 7:50 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 8:00 am. Please note that the Club's COVID-19 policy requires all riders to be present for the pre-ride briefing, and does not allow for riders to join along the route.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and will regroup frequently.
Restrooms and water are available at the start. There's an optional restroom/water stops at Kirkland Marina Park at mile 6. The coffee/pastry stop is at mile 15.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders, preferably reaching 2-4 inches from the ground, if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
