The Getting Ready to Ride Series
Are you new to bicycling, or just been off your bike for a while? Perhaps you've been meaning to ride more this year, but not yet gotten around to it? If so, Getting Ready to Ride might be just for you. It is an eight-week series starting with a flat and easy ride, and adding a little more challenge each week. We will regroup frequently and definitely at the top of any climbs.
We're offering leisurely (10-12mph) and steady (12-14mph) pace versions. This posting is for leisurely (10-12mph). Click here for steady (12-14mph).
This Week's Ride
Join us for the capstone ride of this series: a scenic loop taking in Golden Gardens, Discovery Park, and views all around Queen Anne.
Let's meet at the Gas Works Park Parking Lot at 9:55am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10:10am. Restrooms are available at the start and the mid point.
Final Words
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Saturday Ride Suggestions!
Greetings All. It will be Warm - actually HOT - this weekend! Most recent weather forecast is for Saturday to be mid '90's Saturday afternoon! Be sure to bring PLENTY of Water, use sunscreen, and wear Light Colored riding gear! One of my personal favorites is to wear a Hydration Pack (I.e. "Camelback"),and have it at least half full with ICE! Learned this during my STP Ride in July 2019. We will be encouraging frequent hydration during the Ride. Stay Informed for any additional Information or Updates! Thanks.
