- Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
- Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
- A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.
Join us for a ride from Gas Works on a 20 mile route at Leisurely pace 10-12 miles per hour.
A good way to bike some great improved bikeways including the Elliott Bay Trail through Expedia, the Thomas Street Bridge and the Westlake bikeway. We will see a little of Seattle Center and great views of Elliott Bay and Lake Union.
Let's meet at Gas Works at 9:50 AM for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10:00AM.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at the Port restrooms before Expedia and at Gas Works ( we are making two circles to first bike the circumference of Queen Anne and then around Lake Union). Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Thanks, John, for the pre-riding and the mapping of the routes.
Bring snacks
We will have some short stops to observed the views so feel free to bring snacks for the stops. The route is in two loops both starting and ending at Gas Works. So if you want a shorter ride you can just do the first loop of Queen Anne 14.2 miles. The second, Lake Union, is 6.6 Miles. Both loops are in directions to be the least climbing.
