  • If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, or if you are sick with the flu or a cold, you should not participate in group rides.
  • Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
  • Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
  • A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.

Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.

Join us for a ride from South Seattle on a 11 mile route at a Leisurely pace between 10-12 mph!

Come out for a relaxing ride along Lake Washington Blvd and along the Rainier Valley Greenway! Lake Washington Blvd is one of the treasures of our region and this ride lets you see the majestic views across the Lake. The Rainier Valley Neighborhood Greenway is part of the Seattle Stay Healthy Streets and gives a great route through the various neighborhoods of South Seattle. 

Let's meet at the Stan Sayer Boat Launch near the Mt Baker Sailing & Rowing Club at 11:20am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 11:30am.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to Stay Together.

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles Various restrooms and water is available along the ride at miles 2, 6.5, and a possible snack break at mile 7.5 which is the heart of Columbia City. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

I did my preride today and wanted to let everyone know that the water fountains have been turned off. There are restrooms at the start and throughout the ride but no water fountains. We will pass places to buy drinks and can easily stop.

There is a bit of construction in places on the route. Depending on what it looks like tomorrow we may cut out a small section of the route in Columbia City.
