Join us for a 23.6 mile, 1630' elevation gain as we bike through the Seattle neighborhoods of Queen Anne, Magnolia, Ballard, Loyal Heights, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge and Wallingford. Along the way, we will visit David Rodgers Park, Kerry Park, the Comstock Stairs, Bhy Kracke Park, Seattle Center, Myrtle-Edwards Park, Ella Bailey Park, Discovery Park, the Ballard Locks, Sunset Park, the Phinney Ridge Air Raid Tower and Woodland Park. There will be one stair climb, a short section of cobblestone pavement, a few short steep hills, some short sections of dirt trail, and several of the best viewpoints in the city. There will also be one or two optional additional steep hills for the climbing enthusiasts. Those not wanting to do the optional steep hills will get short rest breaks. We will re-group on the tops of all major hills. Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.
Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.
The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above. I will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information. If you have questions about the weather, please call (or email) before you leave for the ride.
