Join us for a ride from Ron Regis Park on a 26 mile route at Steady Pace (12-14 mph) Average!
My First Ride as Ride Leader! Start at Ron Regis Park, out along Cedar River Trail about 8 Miles. Over to Hobart, with some hill climbing! Then back down the Cedar River Trail - long, gradual descent for about 13 Miles! Prepare for hardpack gravel for first 5 - 6 miles on this part of the Trail. Scenic Opportunities may occur, if folks want a Photo Stop, let me know. May even see an eagle along this route!
Let's meet at the Ron Regis Park at 10:45 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 11:00.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to Regroup Occasionally. Regroup at Top of Hills. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Temporary Restroom (Portapotty) is (currently) available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water as needed and when available.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Plan to be on Hardpack Gravel Terrain for a 5 mile portion.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Looking forward to it!
So far, the weather forecast sounds promising...low 40s with sun. Pinned the route (I love RWGPS).
Cedar River Trail Ride
Indeed. Let's Hope for Clear -or Overcast - but no Rain! Thanks to all who have signed up! Let me know if any of you are new to Group Rides. I have been riding on Group Rides with Cascade for 5 years, but this will be my first time as a Ride Leader. So - be patient, be understanding, and we will make it as fun as we can!!! For those of you who are Strong Climbers, feel free to "push on" up the hills, but wait for the rest of the group (including me) at the tops of climbs. Only a Handful of Climbs on this route. But the Long Steady Descent back down is Worth the Struggle up the Hills! Looking Forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
good
Cycling is a good form of exercise. It is also a simple.

hills
This will be my 6th ride with Cascade. I have an ebike, so I will definitely push ahead on the hills (it's why I got an ebike). When I ride by myself, I usually average 35 miles (long has been 50). Since I'm usually in the lowest setting, I still get plenty of excise since I have to peddle. Since I got the bike last April, I've put around 950 miles on it (after not riding any type of bike for three decades).

Saturday Ride!
Looking Forward to Riding with Everyone. Lets Plan to meet up around 10:45 for Safety Brief and Route Details or Reminders. Hoping for Good Conditions! Thanks.
Great Route
This will be my first Cascade ride since the start of the pandemic. I'm really looking forward to getting with the Cascade group again. This should be a fun route, with a great combination of paved trail, tightly packed gravel trail, and roads.
Saturday RIde Update
Weather Looks Very Encouraging!!! Should be Clear or Partial Overcast, But COLD!!! Wear your Cold Weather Attire!!! Forecast for this evening is Lows into the ' 30's. Hopefully into the 40's by 11:00. Watch for Ice in Well Shaded Places. Thanks. Jim.
Saturday Morning Ride on Cedar River Trail - Update!
This ride is ON! Just looked at the Weather Report on Weather.com. Looks to be clear and SUNNY!!! However, it will be Quite Chilly, 38 degrees at 11:00, possibly up to 43 degrees by 2:00. Regarding Masking Up Requirements, I usually just wear a "gaiter" and bring it up to cover my Mouth and Nose when in conversation. Thanks.
